A) COUNTER-STRIKE: GLOBAL OFFENSIVE GAME REVIEW

GENRE
Counter-Strike is a Online Multiplayer First Person Shooter game that's set in the present day. Essentially, your either a terrorist or a counter-terrorist and you have different objectives which results in one team winning at the end of a match.

NARRATIVE
The narrative behind the game would be that the Terrorists team have to plant a bomb at designated bombsites on the map and defend it till the point it explodes. The Counter-Terrorists have to kill all of the Terrorists before they plant the bomb or defuse the bomb before the timer runs out.

CHARACTERS
There are only two characters in the game, terrorists and counter-terrorists. However, the game features different models for each team depending on the map but it doesn't affect gameplay and is merely cosmetic.

GAMEPLAY
The basic gameplay mechanics is to kill the enemy before they kill you. It's an easy game to get into in terms of difficulty, however, as you progress through the ranking system the game becomes challenging as it starts to involve in-depth strategies for winning 16 rounds before the other team does.

TARGET AUDIENCE
The target audience would be teenagers/adults from around the ages of 12 to 23. It is aimed between these age ranges because the younger generation typically play Counter-Strike as their first competitive shooter game whereas the the older generation have played previous iterations of the game and want to play for the nostalgia. For example Counter-Strike 1.6 players.

PLATFORMS
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is currently only available on the PC and Mac platforms. However, they use to support the Xbox 360 but discontinued support for it early on in development.

RECOMMENDATION
Through my many hours of experience playing this game at the highest level possible, I feel that the game is absolutely great on delivering exactly what a competitive First Person Shooter game needs. The main thing that worked for me on this game was that the gun mechanics were unlike any other game as in Counter-Strike you had to learn specific recoil patterns to be able to take out your enemies whereas in other First Person Shooter games like Call of Duty, you just point and click to kill the enemy players. The only thing that I didn't enjoy about the game was the lack of updates the developers released which can make the game stale at certain times due to the replay ability factor going down. Other than this, the game is executed perfectly.
